Kawamarukun is a symbol character of Kawasaki Marien and Kawasaki Port. The story begins with a boy named Kawamarukun. One day, he got on a cargo ship in the south ocean. He took a nap and felt asleep.
When he woke up, he had already arrived at Kawasaki Port.
At first, he did not understand the language and became lost. Some kind workers at the port came to help. He settled well and now knows the port and ships very well.
Kawamarukun has not left the port ever since.(But recently he has been seen at the soccer field and even on TV.)
It is said that Kawamarukun came to Kawasaki Port in March 1992.What a coincident! It's the same month Marien was opened. Since then, he has become the mascot of Marien and Kawasaki Port.
